AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that challenges usual expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of banned practices and terrifying changes echo through the darkness." The narrative presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden cult.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the quest will obtain an special katana together with several items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's latest free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime series. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla unofficially included a quest that unmistakably nodded to the popular series One-Punch Man.
